Heated Swimming Pool. Safe and Private.

The safe, secure heated swimming pool is a much-loved feature of our gites. Nothing tells you you’re on holiday quite like starting the day with a splash or having a quick dip last thing before supper. The pool is a firm favourite with all ages and a huge hit with the kids, in particular. Parents love being able to put their feet up on a sun-lounger or read a book under an umbrella while the kids splash around in the pool. The pool is solely for the use of our guests in Les Moulins, Hirondelle and the Studio so it never gets crowded or too busy. The pool is in our secluded garden, behind Les Moulins. A tall laurel hedge gives great privacy and security and it allows our guests to swim or sun-bathe in peace, privacy and comfort.

Families with small children appreciate the fact that the pool is behind a gate which is securely locked. (You’ll have a key but the children won’t!)

The pool is open and heated in June, July and August.

Safe, Secure, Child-friendly

The swimming pool area is accessible only through one gate and the gate is kept locked at all times when there are young children on the premises. The pool has two electronic alarm systems, one is a perimeter alarm which will sound when someone approaches the pool when the alarm is set. The second alarm triggers a high decibel alert if someone breaks the surface of the water or causes a splash or surge. We take pool security seriously and we know that pool alarms are a last resort, not a first line of defence. It is much better to keep the pool area securely locked and to keep the kids safely away from the water. The security precautions and the pool alarms give parents great peace of mind and make the job of minding small children easier.

Pool Depths and Dimensions

The pool has steps at the house side for easy access and for safety and a ladder at the side. The shallow end is 0.8 of a metre and the deep end is 1.8 metres. There is a lip of 1.2 metres all around the perimeter of the pool as a safety feature, to allow smaller swimmers to find their depth and stand up once they reach the side of the pool.

Poolside Cabin and WC

There is a poolside cabin where we keep the lounger cushions, sun umbrellas, pool floats, some games to play in the garden and lots of bits and pieces to make your time at the pool more enjoyable. There’s a very convenient poolside loo in the cabin too.

Brand-new Lining and Deck

The pool was completely re-lined and re-insulated in spring of 2015 so it is in tip-top condition and looks like new. The entire wooden deck was replaced in spring 2016 so it looks fantastic too.
