Our two-bedroom gite with heated swimming pool, Hirondelle, is ideal for families, friends or couples, and it sleeps up to 5 people in comfort. Hirondelle was originally an apple store and cider-press (“pressoir” in French), and its charm and character shines through its tasteful refurbishment into a warm and welcoming two-bedroom gite in the heart of Brittany. It was built around 1880 and is approximately 79 sqm in size. It has been decorated for family comfort and relaxed convenience. Hirondelle is charming, comfortable and very well equipped. Features and Facilities
Living / Dining Room
The kitchen, living/dining area is open plan with an impressive stone fireplace with an inset wood burning fire. Living area has two large comfortable sofas, coffee and lamp tables, English TV (Free Sat) DVD player, CD/stereo system, and a selection of books and games. French doors lead to a private patio behind the house.
Private Sunny Patio
Hirondelle has a private patio to the rear which gets the sun for most of the day. It has a barbecue and a table and chairs to sit and relax and enjoy the Breton sun. It’s a favourite feature of Hirondelle.
Bedrooms and Bathroom
The staircase to first floor leads to a large bedroom with double bed and single bed. These areas are partially separated by the double wardrobe. There is a TV with DVD and a ceiling fan, and there are windows at both ends of the room. The second bedroom has two single beds, a small wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The family bathroom has a WC, basin and a full bath with a shower fitting.

Hirondelle (“Swallow” in French) was named for the graceful birds that swoop and curl through the courtyard outside.

Hirondelle has everything you need to cook, even if you decide to get a bit adventurous in the kitchen.
Très agréable gite. Très bien situé. Très propre. Gentillesse de la propriétaire. Venus avec 3 ados.. Avons tous apprécié la salle de jeux avec billard et fléchettes. Très chouette séjour !!
Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit tollem Pool. Der Check-In hat super geklappt. Das Ferienhaus war sehr sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Alison und ihr Malcolm sind sehr gastfreundlich und haben unsere Anfragen immer gleich gut gelöst.
Die Lage ist ruhig. Der Standort ist prima um Ausflüge zu unternehmen (z.B. zum Mont St. Michel, St. Malo, Dinard, Rennes…).

Gîte adorable et parfaitement situé, on recommande !! Un accueil chaleureux et familial, un gite d’une propreté irréprochable et les sourires d’Alison et Malcolm. Tout est adorable et parfaitement situé. On ne peut que recommander et souhaiter d’y retourner.
Prachtige plek, lieve eigenaren
Heerlijke twee weken gehad bij Malcolm en Alyson. Leuk ingerichte cottage met gezellige woonkamer + keuken. Goed uitgerust, ondanks dat er geen vaatwasser is, wel een wasmachine. Boven is het wat klein, zeker met 3 tienerzonen van 17, 21 & 23.
Perfecte uitvalsbasis voor bezoekjes aan de kuststreek, Le Mont St Michel, St Malo etc. Maar ook binnenlands naar Fougères en Rennes. Een dagje thuisblijven bij het huisje is ook heerlijk; fijn zwembad, goeie ligstoelen, grote groene grasmat, maar ook genoeg sportieve mogelijkheden; prima mountainbikes staan tot je beschikking, een goeie petanque baan en zelfs een schuurruimte om te darten en te poulbiljarten ! We hebben genoten !
Alison and Malcolm could not have done more to make our stay so comfortable. Communication was effortless which is important to us and the directions for finding Folleville were so helpful. Our stunning Gite was fully equipped to cook for the family. Everything was clean and well maintained. We were fortunate to have fabulous weather and made use of the heated pool and sun loungers daily. The location afforded us the ability to visit the many surrounding historic places of interest and still have time to relax in the games room or go for a swim in the pool. We went for walks in the beautiful countryside and next time we’ll be out on the bikes that were available to use (it was a bit too hot this summer!) We had privacy with the comfort of knowing that if we needed anything, our hosts were close by. On our last day, none of us wanted to leave (when usually after previous holidays, someone has had enough and wants to go home) and although we have never returned to the same destination, we were already discussing who we’ll bring with us next time.
Myself, Martina and our 3 daughters stayed for 10 days during the summer with Alison in Hirondelle and found it to be an ideal location for a relaxing holiday in the countryside. The cottages are fantastically renovated providing a luxurious base to explore the area of which there is so much to see. We had full use of the heated swimming pool, large garden and barbeque area and even bicycles for a quick spin to the local village. Alison and Malcolm were so friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous holiday and cant wait to return.

We have just had a wonderful holiday at L’Hirondelle. Alison and Malcolm were very welcoming. Our home for 10 days was beautifully furnished and came equipped with everything we needed, and more – the welcome pack was much appreciated. The swimming pool, games room and hospitality of Alison and Malcolm made our holiday a thoroughly enjoyable experience – many thanks guys!

A relaxing week – just what we needed. The gite is fantastic and the welcome and service from Alison & Malcolm cannot be bettered. There is so much to see in the area that more time is needed so further visits look likely.
We had an absolutely fabulous holiday. Our girls have enjoyed the pool while we have been able to enjoythe gorgeous weather we were lucky enough to get. The gite has been perfect –really well equipped, clean and tidy. We would definitely love to come back. The area is just stunning with plenty to see and do. A week just isn’t long enough to do all the things we wanted to do – plenty left for next time though!!!!

What a lovely place to spend our Christmas holidays. We felt so welcome to be here. Didn’t do a lot of things – just relaxed. The house is cosy, complete, clean – a real home from home!
We have had a fantastic break at Folleville. This is a really comfortable place to stay with lots of fab ‘extras’. Having stayed in lots of self-catering accommodation in France, this was the best!
We came here on Honeymoon and it was just the perfect setting to get away from our busy lives and have some quality time as a newly married couple. The place is so peaceful and we have really enjoyed visiting the surrounding area, particularly Dinan with it’s cobbled streets and lovely medieval buildings. Fougeres was another highlight as well as Mont Saint Michel.
L’Hirondelle – what a fantastic place! Of all the gites we’ve stayed in all over France this would definitely be one of the best. All the facilities you could think of and need are here – the attention to detail is fabulous, especially in the kitchen where there is everything you need for cooking – unlike some places where the barest minimum of equipment is provided! All of the other services offered here are also excellent – pool, games room, Wi-Fi, TV, bikes – all contributed to a comfortable, enjoyable and stress-free holiday. Thank you so much!

Thanks for all the tips to make the most of our time here. We had an action packed time visiting Cancale, Foret Villecartier (kid’s loved the aerial course), Fougeres, Dinard and Mont St Michel.
